Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor who is best known for portraying detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue in which she was awarded the Emmy Award. Her appearances include All My Children Philly CSI: Miami & Army Wives. Delaney was born the sole child of her homemaker mother and senior executive from the United Auto Workers. Delaney was a child in the company of four brothers. Though she had a aspiration to become journalist, it wasn't until the time of her high school days that Delaney began to model. When she moved from New York City and gaining an experience working with commercials in New York did she achieve the career as aspiring court reporters. Her first acting job was as a teenager in All My Children, a soap opera from 1981. Delaney is a well-known actor who has appeared in many films, television shows, and dramas. Personally, her professional one has nt been successful and happy. The talented actress has struggled with addiction issues in the past and had two divorces. In 2005, she was denied the custody of her only son.
